Welcome to this collective worship resources website. Since its redesign (Autumn 2005) it now provides more material, in a wider variety of formats, for different forms of use and presentation.
As well as the four main areas described below, there are archived collections on the themes of 'through the year' and 'people', and there is a special search facility for prayers as well as a full site search.
We also provide links to other providers of worship resources as well as guidance on different ways of leading worship together with references to what is required of schools.
Reflections
Each Reflection takes the form of short sections designed principally for use as class/tutor group worship over a series of days. Sections are designed to be brief and take no longer than ten minutes maximum. The description of each Reflection will indicate the format: text, text + illustration / web link or short MS PowerPoint presentation.
(MS PowerPoint files are intended for downloading and displaying using a compatible viewer program.)
In response to users' comments, from the Summer term 2006, six new primary and six new secondary Reflections will be provided before the start of each term, along with a minimum of 6 'topical' resources for both primary and secondary school use.
Worship 4 Schools
Worship4schools items are intended for larger groups. This section will always include resources on topics / themes relevant to the season / Church Year, as appropriate, and will usually include new, updated, and archived items.
Reflections and Worship4schools both include material suitable for Primary and Secondary age ranges.
Towards the end of each term, programmes for next term are published, and new material is added as it is written. Programmes will contain a significant amount of new material, mixed with selected items from our extensive archive collection. New material is always marked as such,
In the news
In the news resources cover current and topical events and occasions.
Sometimes these will be immediate responses to particular news stories. A minimum of 6 'topical' resources for both primary and secondary school use will be provided each term from Summer 2006.
Multi-media
Multi-media resources are resources which have been specially commissioned and filmed. The programme - planned over a year and based on a series of themes - will be free at the point of delivery.
Preparation
Material which is ready-to-use and requires no other resource preparation is indicated with the 'lightning' graphic, as shown.
