Wildest dreams - working towards ideals and imagined goals
AGE: Primary |
THEME: Wildest Dreams - what are we aiming for? |
PREPARATION: |
Write this statement on a large piece of paper and display it where all can see:
"... the bedroom of your dreams fitted free...!" |
INTRODUCTION: |
|
DEVELOPMENT: |
|
Consider the phrase people often use - " in your wildest dreams". Does it sound as if we are defeated before we begin? Are our expectations too high? Share the thought that it may be one thing to dream of things we want, but what about our dreams of what we want to be? Must they be limited? Can we always achieve what we set out to do? How important is it to try no matter how 'wild' our expectations are? Get the pupils to offer ideas or write on a post-it note what their 'wildest dreams (hopes and expectations)' are, especially concerning what they would like to be in 5, 10, 15 years etc. time. |
REFLECTION: |
| Think about what you hope to be, what kind of person you want to be, what job you would like to do, how you would like others to think of and treat you. Think in particular of what you have written as your 'wildest dream' and consider how far will you be able to achieve it. |
READING: |
| God uses dreams as a special way of 'speaking' to us. For example this is a dream of Jacob: Genesis 28: 10-16. |
PRAYER: |
|
Dear God We are all your special people, You have given us gifts and skills to share. Help us to realise what you want us to be Show us how to fulfil your dreams and hopes for us, So that our hopes and dreams bring us closer to you Amen. |
