| To use the theme of colour as a focus for children to reflect on their own experiences of, and feelings about, different colours and to provide opportunities for thinking about the natural world. |
PREPARATION
|
You will need:
| Session 1: |
A selection of green-leaved plants and individual colour charts in all shades of green (available from paint mixing stands in local DIY shops).

| Session 2: |
Various containers filled with water; individual colour charts in shades of blue; music for entry / exit & music for the hymn / song 'Water of Life'.
|
| Session 3: |
A vase of sun flowers and / or a large picture of Van Gogh's painting; a copy of Genesis 1 in the Lion Children's Bible; happy music for exit.
|
| Session 4: |
Different coloured materials, or coloured scarves; a copy of the story of Noah's Ark (for younger children use a colourful version, e.g. by Brian Wildsmith or Jane Ray; for older children use the Lion Children's Bible); a recording of 'What a Wonderful World' by Louis Armstrong.
Songs: 'Who put the colours in the rainbow' and 'Think of a world without any flowers' (both in Come and Praise, BBC Books.)
