Climb Every Mountain

.

>Aim

To focus on the achievements of those who have climbed Mount Everest.
To draw a comparison with the personal challenges we may face in our own lives and see how having God in our life can help us feel stronger and more confident when facing them.

Format: Text and PowerPoint presentation

>Preparation

Throughout the reflection you could provide images of Mount Everest as a backdrop with a candle in a central, safe position to encourage children to focus their thoughts

>Prayer

Lord, our lives are full of challenges. Sometimes, the challenges are easy and we tackle them as easily as we might walk up a small hill. But sometimes Lord we face things that we find really hard - we have mountains in our own lives. Sometimes we feel like we have no friends, our families argue and we feel unhappy, our friends, pets or families might be ill or die and we don't know how to keep going. Help us to remember your presence and your love for us. Let us trust that you will show us the right way to keep on trying, until we are able to climb our own mountains with you beside us.
Amen.
