'Same but Different'

>Aim

To use the theme of 'Same but Different' to promote opportunities to reflect on:
  • What it means to belong to a family group whilst at the same time being an individual
  • Accepting people as they are
  • How God's love is the same for everyone however different they are as individuals.



>Preparation

You will need:
Session 1:  The photograph of two lambs provided, to display.
Quiet music to begin and end the Collective Worship time.

Session 2:  Groups of children who are siblings.
Photograph as for Session 1 (optional).
Song: 'He's Got the Whole World in His Hands' (No. 19 in Come and Praise).

Session 3:  Sign showing the words SAME BUT DIFFERENT.
Story of the Prodigal Son (first half) from a children's version of the Bible (Luke 15:11-19, Lion Children's Bible pp.327-328).

Session 4:  Story of the Prodigal Son (second half) from a children's version of the Bible (Luke 15:20-32, Lion Children's Bible p.328).
Song: 'He's Got the Whole World' (as in Session 2).
Photograph as in Session 1 (optional).
