You will need a Children's Bible with these stories:
  • David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17)
  • The Story of Naaman (2 Kings 5)
  • John 3:16-17
  • Jesus is betrayed by Judas (Luke 22:3-6), Peter (Luke 22:54-62) and at his death (John 18 and 19).
Children willing and secure in sharing their ideas.
A large blank / empty picture or photo frame and a candle to encourage moments of reflection (optional).

Songs to sing with the children (all from The Complete Come and Praise, BBC Publishing) could include:
'Praise Him, Praise Him' No. 40
'Can you be sure that the rain will fall?' No. 31
'One More Step' No. 47



>Prayer
The following prayer could be used with these reflections:

Lord, we thank you for those we trust, for the care, comfort and love we feel for them and from them. Thank you for trusting us with the gift of your son, Jesus Christ. Help us to act in a way that shows we value your trust and learn from what he taught us.
Amen.
